To keep your family and neighbors safe, you should surround your pool with an isolation fence or a pool fence or barrier at least five feet high with a self-closing and self-latching gate.
The gate latch should be at least 54 inches from the ground to keep it out of the reach of children. We can help you select a non-climbable fence that meets all applicable local safety codes. Vertical bars in the fence should be no more than four inches apart to be sure that small children can’t squeeze through. The horizontal bars and braces must also be high enough and far enough apart that they can’t be used a “ladder” to climb the fence.
You may also consider“isolation fencing. Isolation fencing is preferred for pool and spa protection as it completely separates your pool or spa area from the house and other backyard areas. An isolation fence restricts unauthorized access from neighbors and from inside the house.
We and our partners, including Guardian Fence out of Columbia, can help you with vinyl, aluminum, steel, wood, and masonry fences and gates to help create your beautiful, private, and secure backyard vacation.
